Adding tax to invoices simplifies accounting processes, making tracking revenue, expenses, and taxes owed easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also helps you prepare accurate tax returns and financial statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out how to <code><a href=\"https:\/\/akaunting.com\/hc\/docs\/taxes-and-filing\/adding-a-new-tax-rate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">add a new tax<\/a><\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding Tax to Invoices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Sales <\/strong>on the Navigation Menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/04\/14131339\/adding-taxe-rate-to-invoices.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select <strong>Invoices <\/strong>from the expanded menu options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the Invoices page, click <strong>New Invoice<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the required details on the Invoice creation page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invoice creation details include but are not limited to <strong>Customer<\/strong>, <strong>Title<\/strong>, <strong>Logo, Billing information, Date, Order number, and more. <\/strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/akaunting.com\/blog\/invoice-billable-hours\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Check out the details you should have in an invoice<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Add an Item <\/strong>to select from a list of items or create a New item.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Below the <strong>Price <\/strong>input box, Click <strong>Add tax<\/strong> to add a <strong>Line Tax <\/strong>specific to the item.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If you don&#8217;t haven&#8217;t added any taxes prior to creating an invoice, you can add a <\/em><strong><em>New Tax <\/em><\/strong><em>from the dropdown option. Click New tax, Enter the required details &#8211; Name and Rate (in percentage), and <\/em><strong><em>Save<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Then, <strong>Save.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The added Tax is automatically applied to the total invoice amount.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can create different taxes and add them to invoices.
