{"id":2036,"date":"2023-11-23T10:26:34","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T07:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/akaunting.com\/hc\/docs\/invoices-and-estimates\/splitting-invoice-payment\/"},"modified":"2023-11-23T10:37:49","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T07:37:49","slug":"splitting-invoice-payment","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/akaunting.com\/hc\/docs\/invoices-and-estimates\/splitting-invoice-payment\/","title":{"rendered":"Splitting Invoice Payment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can split invoice payments and track partial payments for outstanding invoices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To Split Invoice payment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103346\/partial-payment.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Sales<\/strong> on the <strong>Navigation Menu<\/strong> and select <strong>Invoices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on an Unpaid\/Draft Invoice on the Invoices page to display the invoice details page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Get Paid section, select <strong>Add Payment. <\/strong>(<em>Ensure you have confirmed payment from the recipient before completing this action<\/em>.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the required details in the Add Payment pop-up window. <strong><em>Date<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em><strong><em>Account<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em><strong><em>Amount<\/em><\/strong><em>, and <\/em><strong><em>Payment method<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Edit the <strong>Amount<\/strong> field to accurately reflect the payment that was received from the recipient.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103143\/edit-splitting-invoice-1024x576.png\" alt=\"Splitting Invoice Payment\" class=\"wp-image-2039\" style=\"width:724px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103143\/edit-splitting-invoice-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103143\/edit-splitting-invoice-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103143\/edit-splitting-invoice-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103143\/edit-splitting-invoice-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/assets.akaunting.com\/hc\/2023\/11\/23103143\/edit-splitting-invoice.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switch Tabs on the pop-up window from <strong>General<\/strong> to <strong>Other <\/strong>for payment description, Transaction Number, and Reference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once saved, the Invoice status is updated to Partial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can send the payment details to the recipient by clicking <strong>Send Receipt.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code><em>You can see records of Partial payments in the <\/em><strong><em>Make Payment<\/em><\/strong><em> section.<\/em><\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can split invoice payments and track partial payments for outstanding invoices.
