What is MT940?
An MT940 file is a text file containing bank transactions. Your online banking may give you the option of downloading a bank statement in this format or you would like to request from your bank periodically. You can keep your bank transactions under control by transferring your MT940 files to Akaunting.
How to transfer MT940 files?
If the bank name and bank account number are present in the contents of the MT940 file, the bank account and currency are created automatically. If this information is not available, it is expected to be entered by the user.
