Best Practice for extending fields

Hi, I'm new to Akaunting. I installed it to play around a bit. I am looking for a basement to a custom project. Looks good so far - great work!

What would you recommend for extending existing structures like adding extra fields to a customer (like shipping address or other details)? It is probably not a good idea to just extend the database and the core. Maybe adding a custom module with an independent table assigned to the customer id?

Are there any open 3rd party modules out there to check out?

Hey... sorry. No further progress. We decided to develop our stuff from scratch. Akaunting looked great at first but unfortunately the community seem to be weak and it is not that flexible as I expected.
