Call to a member function customer() on custom Menu

I have added a new module following the following link: Modules and added on the Menu: Menu as shown on the link.
The link is displaying but i get the following error when i open the page:
Call to a member function customer() on null (View: C:\xampp_new\htdocs\akaunting\resources\views\layouts\admin.blade.php) (View: C:\xampp_new\htdocs\akaunting\resources\views\layouts\admin.blade.php)
