Cannot pass login page

I am hoping for some assistance with my installation of ver. 2.0.26 installed on my local NAS. I had an SQL error that required me to re-initialize my database on my local install. The software now will not progress beyond the login page (once credentials are entered, the software stalls). I can access the database through myphpadmin and it appears to be fine with all of the data still there including the users. Can I reinstall the software to have it access the database again or is there a "repair" installation that will reset the access?
