Cheque management

Some of my transactions are done by cheques. One way to record cheque payments is to create a new offline payment method. But still, it does not allow to track transactions done via a specific payment method.

Is there a way to track cheques (maybe an add-on)?
or
Is there a way to track transactions done by a particular offline payment method?
