Connect bills and payments

Hi people!
I want to connect existing payments with my bills. But it seems not to be possible.
When I create a new bill I can add a payment.
But I have hundreds of payments from my bank account. Therefor I import the transactions from my bank account. But then there is no way to connect an imported expense with a generated bill.

Is there a chance to create a button to connect existing payments with new bills. That would make life a lot easier :)

Because the "select bill" tab in the "payments window is still frozen (when I make a new payment) and when I open an existing (imported from my bank account) payment, there no such option at all.

I am new here. Trying to search for answers before I make a post to ask.
It does not look like there is a way to do this.

I want to link payables to invoices. So when an invoice gets paid, the AP Bill can be marked ready to be paid.
