Multi currency issues

Hi everyone,

The multi currency feature isn't calculating the correct values on the dashboard. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?

Whenever I set a currency rate as less than 1 (eg 0.5), the conversion is incorrect. When the currency rate is above 1 (eg 2) it is correct. Unfortunately, this means a large number of currencies are calculating inaccurately for me.

For example:

  • default curreny rate = 1

  • second currency rate = 0.5 (eg USD)

If the USD is 10, the conversion to the default = 20.

If the rates are set as follows:

  • default curreny rate = 1

  • second currency rate = 2 (eg USD)

If the USD is 10, the conversion to the default also = 20 (the expected value would be 5).

Can someone please confirm if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug?

Thanks

I am experiencing severe issues with currency exchange, to the point that my Expenses data is not consistent anymore :(

Around June 19th I entered  number of expense items, some using my main currency (DKK), other using other currencies.

Then I checked the Expense Report and noticed that the totals were not correct, likely because the currency exchanges were not correct. I then changed the currency exchanges, for example now EUR is set at 7.4671. That was the value that seemed to produc the correct report.
However, after making the exchange rate change I noticed that the Expense items changed their "Amount" field to incorrect values, instead of keeping their original.

It looks to me that when adding an expense with a currency (e.g. 300 eur), the actual valued stored in the database is converted to the main currency. Because when I changed the currency rate, the values of the expense items changed to incorrect values (e.g. 300 eur is now 0.30 eur).

Besides that, I just checked again and I see incosistent behaviour in the app. Sometimes I open an expense and says  0.65 DKK, I reload the page and says 6500 DKK. So something seems broken with the currency management.

Could we get an explanation of the implementation of currencies so i can try to figure out the issues and try to recover my data?

Thanks

Hi again,

I was just wondering if there is an estimated date for when this bug will be fixed?

Unfortunately, I've noticed that the error also occurs in the Profit/Loss Report, which means I can't use Akaunting at all until it's fixed.

Many thanks!

Rob

Lots of people suffer from this long standing issue. It's holding us back to make the purchase. The product promises a lot but this is a no-go.
