I was wondering the viability of this solution before I invest anymore time, and eventually money for lifetime licenses into akaunting.
My company has everything in a desktop instance of quickbooks 2016. I need it all migrated into my self hosted instance. Would I be able to briefly sign up for quickbooks online, import the data, set up a cloud akaunting(my self hosted one is already installed, but very little configured) and import/sync that data into myself hosted akaunting instance?
Hello,
You should set up Akaunting on our Cloud or your On-Premise (not both) if you could migrate your data from QB Desktop to QB Online.
Best regards
The Akaunting app for QB migration is only available for a cloud Akaunting set up. I do not want to use a Cloud set up. I see that the back up and restore app can allow me to migrate data from a Cloud set up back to a self hosted set up for Akaunting. Do you follow what I'm saying?
So what I'm asking is will things migration process work in this order.
QB 2016 Desktop >(Using QB's native desktop to online migration) QB Online >(Using Akaunting QB migration app) Akaunting Cloud >(using Backup & Restore) Akaunting Self hosted
I only have QuickBooks desktop (not online) can i import the info?
Yes, it is possible to migrate your data from QuickBooks 2016 to a self-hosted instance of Akaunting. To achieve this, you can sign up for QuickBooks Online temporarily, import your data from QuickBooks 2016, and then set up your self-hosted Akaunting instance. Once your Akaunting instance is ready, you can import or sync the data from QuickBooks Online into your self-hosted Akaunting instance. This migration process allows you to transfer your financial data from QuickBooks to Akaunting, ensuring continuity and enabling you to utilize Akaunting's features for your accounting needs.
