Using Categories

Hi All,

What would be the benefit of assigning categories to Items? I cannot find any widgets or reports where you can actually see/use Item categories.

There are very limited display-only widgets for income and expenses by category but that's it. You cannot create any custom reports where you can actually use categories in any way to provide additional business value to mine the data in your transactions... or am I missing something?

Has anybody actually used categories to some degree of benefit?
