Please realize more than 1 level category structure.
For example, now I have a category Sales with the type income.
It would be great if I can create a subcategory
Sales/Fruits
Sales/Vegetables
etc
why dont you create different categories such as:
Sales- Fruits
Sales- Vegetables
?
Sorry... I am not sure I am ready to explain why it is not a good solution. It is obvious to me.
I can say only that my suggestion will make more accessible the future reporting system of your product. Your way with Sales- Fruits will make it more difficult...
I also would like such feature but with unlimited sub categories - eg. Sales/Fruit/UK/London - It would give much better reporting opportunity as I can look at total sales or just the sales of London UK
It looks like the programmers control the development features in Akaunting :-) I know the companies like that, and it is awful for the product's development. They could finally get the product that is ideal for programmers and unusable for the finance people even in the small company.
They must have somebody who is closer to finance who can explain to them that any good accounting system is not a data store, it is first of all the powerful reporting system that helps users to get different analytics based on the data that is impossible without possibilities to structurize data.
And what can we see a year later - they improved the interface (all programmers like play with the interface :-)) but the category still has just one level...
I like the new interface same as I also liked the old one but the reporting system is in its infancy.
Come on Akaunting! You MUST have multi-level categories. Utilities should be able to be a main payment category, with breakdowns underneath, Utilities > Power, Utilities > Water. I should be able to look at my costs in main categories as a whole and be able to drill into to see how much of my utility expense was a specific type. Not having this is ridiculous.
