Sales Order System

The systems really needs a sales order section and it would make this system very powerful. Many businesses (like ourselves) have a very common workflow.

1. Create sales order
2. Print picking list - To pick the products within a warehouse
3. Ship the order in system and add tracking #
4. Send sales order into an invoice

Essentially this is the most common workflow for most companies with volume orders. There is quite a bit of detail involved with each step and very basic summary of details.

Details for 1. Create sales order by loading a customer, add products, taxes will be auto-calculated by system settings, calculate shipping charges, make credit card payment (if applicable). After entering order have the option to email a sales order confirmation.

Details for 2. A picking list is a must that shows customers info, products, quantity and the bin/shelf location with a warehouse. This allows the order to be picked and packed by warehouse personnel.

Details for 3. Need a section to ship the order in the system where we enter the quantity of each product being shipped and/or backordered. Also, this needs to allow an upload of the shipment tracking number(s).

Details for 4. Convert the sales order into an actual final invoice.

Like I mentioned this is a 'very basic summary' of the details and much more would need to go into this to make this software very functional for many companies.

Hopefully something like this will be integrated at some point.

Its true. Without the ability to create a sales order and provide the customer with an order confirmation and packing slip it's pretty much impossible for many companies who to utilize this system.

Every company I manage has a very similar workflow:

1. Create quote or estimate
2. Convert winning quotes into "Sales Order"
3. Check inventory and lead times with suppliers for items not in inventory. Send Purchase Orders to suppliers.
4. Send Order Confirmation to Customer with expected delivery date or leadtimes (ie. 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.)
5. Once order is ready then create packing slip.
6 Then invoice for shipped items or services.

Hi,

First... thanks for this excellent software. I am new in the use but hoped it had this feature, it would complete my needs as it is with this.

Just wanted to know if this is still in development, available or not?

Thanks

Hi Joe,

I read what you mentioned in your query. There are software in the market that pertain to your above request, i.e. integrate sales orders, generate invoices, manage inventory, all in one place. Usually, businesses use ERP for this. I would recommend you check this website. See if this solves your query. Also there is another list of software that I am mentioning below which I am definitely sure will solve your query..

1. NetSuite
2. Zoho
3. SAP
4. Microsoft Dynamics
5. TYASuite
6. Kissflow
