404 before I can install

I get a 404:

The requested URL /akaunting/auth/login was not found on this server.

(Furthermore, after extracting the .zip the directory permissions for /storage and /bootstrap/cache had to be fixed)

I think it because you dont have mod_rewrite enabled and apache to be able to read the .htaccess files in your install dir.

Also you can enable debug feature (edit the .env file in your root and look for debug=false, set it to true) to see better error descriptions (anyway this error you have is about your apache server I think)

I had the same issue and find a solution.

In my case it was the .htaccess missing (because it's hidden in most OS').

If you copying the dowloaded Version make sure you copy the .htaccess ind the root-Folder aswell.
