After update - internal server error 500

After updating to version 2.1.22, I am unable to login - but taken directly to a page saying it is an internal server error 500. It allso appends a "1" to my site address (e.g. akauting.mydomain.com/1).

I have seen suggestions to change permissions on all files on the server - but that seems somewhat unsavory from a security point of view. Is it possible to export the data (without access to the frontend) from the server and do a clean install? Or does anyone know how to sort this?

If I remember correctly you have to point your .env file to your domain (and directory of applicable)

APP_URL=https://yourdomainname.com

I am sorry - @adrie - this does not work.

I have the same error and the installation hung on 80% and did not go any further.
