I cannot get the installation to connect to the database. All the settings are correct. Any ideas?

... and the details are 100% correct

Sorry to hear that but, I have installed several times, diferent servers... the time I got that error was I mistake the user or db.  If you could explain step by step what have you done while following these steps https://akaunting.com/docs/installation, it might be possible to help you, now just guessing.

Hi again Sebastian, yes, I followed the installation instructions... I don't know what is happening, because I have also installed hundreds of web apps with a MySql connection like Akaunting.

Is it possible to 'force' the connection by writing the access details directly on a config file? Which one? 

To make sure it was not a server or configuration problem, I just created a test Joomla website and database and it worked perfectly.

... Is there some server requirement for the DB connection for Accounting I might be not seeing?

The config is in .env file, there you have the connection parameters.

The complete requirements are in the installation steps/github, have a read there, it might be of use!

Diego, what is the MySQL connection port of your server?

Hi Denis, it is 3306. 

In the Hostname field of the installation I am putting 'localhost:3306'
