Error during upgrade from 2.1.36 to 3.0.0

Hi Everyone,

I got an error during the upgrade of my self hosted installation from 2.1.36 to 3.0.0

It looked like the code was updated (at least partially) as the new interface was visible, but clicking on the dashboard produced a 500 Server Error.

Looking at the logs, it seems the installation crashed when it tried to create the user_invitations table in the database, as it already existed.

I restored using a backup back to 2.1.36, then deleted the user_invitations table, and the installation went through no problem.

It could be a bug in the update script.

Hope this helps

Thanks
Jamie

I think I had this same exact error. Where are the log files located that I could look through to confirm?
Also, if a backup wasn't performed is there anyway to correct this? Is there a manual way to re-install version 3?

Hi,

The logs are stored in /storage/logs inside the folder that stores the website

You could try the manual installation instructions found on this page https://akaunting.com/docs/update
