Initial install error

 I looked at some old threads on this item and they don't seem to help.  I get the below in my Apache logs;

PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected 'class' (T_CLASS), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or variable (T_VARIABLE) or '{' or '$' in /var/www/html/Akaunting/index.php on line 24

I did check my PHP version which is;PHP 5.6.40 (cli) (built: Apr  2 2019 12:46:42)

Any ideas on what could be going on?

The development of PHP 5.6 has stopped in December 2018 so the built date is wrong which means your PHP version also be different.
