Installing Akaunting on cPanel

I am working on setting up an Akaunting installation on my cPanel hosting. I have uploaded the Akaunting .zip file to the server inside of its own directory. the directory for akaunting is /home/[usr]/Akaunting.

I also have a domain set up for my company.

I follow the instructions from https://akaunting.com/docs/installation
In a chrome web browser, I go to http://[my domain]/home/[usr]/Akaunting
(I fill in the [] with the appropriate value)
I receive a 404 not found error.

Can someone please let me know what I am doing wrong? I want to be able to access the first installation page for Akaunting and install that on my cPanel hosting.

Hi Jeremy,

Are you sure that on your domain name the path is as you mention?

If the akaunting folder is not on the root.. then you should have something similar to http://domain.com/akaunting-folder

The path you shared seems to be the path inside your Linux shared host(guessing).

If you can share more details, i'll be glad to help.

Thanks,

Hello Leonardo,
Yes the Akaunting files were uploaded to my directory in the File Manager on my Linux shared host. they are located in /home/[usr]/Akaunting. I created the Akaunting folder/directory.

Are you able to explain to me how I can access this directory via http? Or do I need to upload the Akaunting folder/files to another location that is not on my Linux shared host?

Leonardo,

Thanks for your help with this! This worked and my team was able to access Akaunting installation via http. The trick was putting it inside of the public_html folder. One note, we had to put it inside of another folder inside of public_html so that the main homepage would remain intact. Thanks again for your help.
