Problem with update - proc_open

I have this in my log when i try to update from v.1.3.18 to 2.0.6
"The Process class relies on proc_open, which is not available on your PHP installation."

My hostingcompany says than proc_open is a unsesure module and is not allowed in cpanel.
I see in other forums that others see proc_open as an unsesure module as well.

Is there an other way to update, other than in the app.

Is would be a nice feature is the update was integrated in softaculous. It can be installed that way, but not option to update.
