Update fails with unknown error

Trying to update to 3.0.3 using the update function within Akaunting.
It starts and then fails with the following error message:
"The command /usr/local/bin php artisan update core 2 3.0.3 failed.
Exit code: 255(Unknown error)"
Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?
