Importing a group of products/services

Akaunting makes importing and managing groups of products or services easy. Track how they are performing with Sales Metric for informed decisions.

You need the Inventory App to add a group of products/services. See how to Install or Purchase an app on Akaunting.

Importing a group of products/services:

• Go to Inventory on the Navigation menu.
• Click Groups from the expanded menu options.
• On the Groups page, click Import or the ellipses icon at the top left corner.
• Select Import from the ellipses dropdown options.
• On the Import Groups page, Download the sample file and fill in the provided fields.

In the Items tab, you can enter the following details:

• Type: Product, Service, or Other.
• Description
• Sale Price
• Purchase price
• Category name
• Enabled: Enter TRUE to enable the Product/Service.

In the Warehouses tab, you can enter the following details:

• Item name
• Total stock
• Opening stock
• Reorder level
• Warehouse name: If you have more than one warehouse, you can specify it here.
• Default warehouse: If you have multiple warehouses, you can select the default here by entering TRUE or FALSE.
• SKU
• Unit
• Returnable: If the product/service isn’t returnable, specify it here.

In the Items Group tab, you can enter the following details:

• Name of Group
• Description
• Category Name
• Enabled: TRUE or FALSE

In the Item Group Items tab, you can enter the following details:

• Item Name
• Item Group Name

In the Item Group Options tab, you can enter the following details:

• Item Group Name
• Option Name

In the Item Group Option Values tab, you can enter the following details:

• Item Name
• Option Name
• Option Value Name
• Item Group Name

Ensure to have a consistent Item name in all tabs.

• Save the file as XLS or XLSX.
• Upload your file to Akaunting.
• Click Import and wait for a few seconds. This may vary depending on the size of the data.

You’ll get a notification on the sidebar notification icon. Also, a confirmation will be sent to your email once the upload is completed.
