Migrating to Akaunting from QuickBooks

The following steps will help you successfully move your business data from QuickBooks to Akaunting.

  • Create an account on Akaunting.
  • Login to your company dashboard
  • Go to Apps on the Navigation Menu
  • Search for QuickBooks in the App Store and Install the QuickBooks Migration App.

After Installation, go to settings on Side Panel and select QuickBooks.

You should log in to your QuickBooks account from the Migration App dashboard by clicking on “Auth” and entering the required account details.

Migrating as an Akaunting on-premise user

If you’ve installed Akaunting on-premise on your server, apply the following steps:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks
  2. Go to https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/dashboard
  3. Click Create an application.
  4. Enter app details. You can name it anything you like by selecting “com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting” and “com.intuit.quickbooks.payment”.
  5. Set a Redirect URL: The Redirect URL will be something like this: https://your-akaunting-path.com/quickbooks/auth (needs to end with /quickbooks/auth)
  6. Click Create your application.
  7. Copy Client ID and Client Secret to Akaunting > Settings > QuickBooks page and Save.

The QuickBooks Migration App transfers your:

  • Bills
  • Chart of accounts (double-entry app)
  • Credit notes (credit debit notes app)
  • Customers
  • Estimates
  • Invoices
  • Items
  • Purchase order (sales purchase orders app)
  • Taxes
  • Vendors
